Kuwait's Golden Jubilee Fireworks Show


Kuwait marked the golden jubilee of its constitution with an incredible $15 million fireworks display which earned a Guinness World Record. Over 77,000 fireworks were used which lit up sky of Kuwait with a spectacular fireworks show. Tens of thousands of Kuwaitis and expatriates filled the seaside Arabian Gulf Road where the one-hour fireworks and laser display was staged to mark the 50th anniversary of the constitution.

Over 25 different companies and organizations had been involved in the planning of the events, and over 1,000 young Kuwaitis had volunteered for the day, to serve refreshments, provide information, brochures, etc.

Kuwait’s Constitution was issued on November 11, 1962 by a decree from the then-Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the 11th ruler of Kuwait.
