World's most colourful places

The hillside slum of Santa Marta in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was
transformed by the community as part of the Favela Painting Project.

Known as the blue city, you will find every hue of the colour in
Chefchaoen, Morocco.

The capital of the Newfoundland province in the east of Canada,
St Johns' hilly streets have a paintbox of colours.

Home to the lively and colourful Notting Hill Carnival, this upmarket
London suburb was also Hugh Grant's home in the romantic comedy
of the same name.

Homes in Jodhpur, India, were originally painted blue by different
castes to make their area stand out.

The 17th century waterfront area of Nyhavn in Copenhagen, Denmark,
is home to restaurants, cafes and museums.

Burano, Italy is an island about 7km from Venice.

Guanajuato, Mexico is a lively hillside city and has plenty of interesting
colonial-style buildings which catch the eye.
